Welcome readers. I've had a love of the English language for a very, very long time. Since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, so to speak. My first experience was pretty positive. In 3rd grade, for a contest, we had to write a poem celebrating the Statue of Liberty (she was being repaired).
Out of thousands of entries, mine won, and I was published in my local newspaper. It was terribly exciting.
Nothing has changed. I love words. I love writing. I love painting pictures with shades of colors, accessorizing with metaphors and adjectives, and dragging emotions through the dirt with synonyms that grip your heart.
This blog will serve as a treasure trove of everything and anything English (grammar, punctuation, fiction, etymology, and more) - American English, not the Queen's English (wherever it may live and thrive). I might make mistakes and, for that, I'll apologize ahead of time. It happens. But if our language intrigues you, come visit, sit down, dunk your chocolate cookie in a cup of joe, send me a message or email. I'm always here.
